FAQ
Questions people ask before they book
Delivery & area
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, delivery is available. Greater Pittsburgh area, including South Hills communities and beyond. Confirm your address when requesting a quote.
How far do you deliver?
Greater Pittsburgh area, including South Hills communities and beyond. Confirm your address when requesting a quote.
How much is delivery?
Delivery within the local service area starts at $29. Additional fees may apply for stairs, difficult access, waiting time, setup, or teardown.
Do you deliver to churches, halls and community venues?
Yes. Church halls, fire halls, community centres, parks and school gyms are a regular part of the work, alongside private homes and backyards. Let us know if the venue has a loading door, stairs, an elevator, or a set delivery window, and we'll plan around it.
Do you deliver for weddings?
Yes. Weddings are usually booked further ahead than other events and often need a specific delivery window around the ceremony, so it helps to get your date on the calendar early. Tell us the ceremony time and any venue rules when you request a quote and we'll work backwards from there.
Pricing
How much do chairs and tables cost?
Pricing depends on how many chairs and tables you need, how far the delivery is, and how long you're keeping them, so we quote each event rather than publishing a rate card. A 30-chair backyard party and a 200-guest hall are genuinely different jobs. Your quote itemises everything, rentals, delivery and pickup, and it's free with no obligation to book.
Is there a minimum order?
We'd rather hear what you need than turn you away on a number. Tell us your guest count and we'll tell you straight away whether we can help. Small events are welcome.
How do I pay, and is a deposit required?
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total rental amount is required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due before delivery or pickup. Cash, Zelle, Cash App, and approved credit/debit card.
Can I rent just chairs, or just tables, without the other?
Yes. Chairs and tables are priced and rented separately, so an order of just chairs for a ceremony, or just tables for a buffet where guests bring their own seating, is completely normal. Tell us what you need on the quote form and that's what you'll be quoted for.
What's included when I rent from you?
Your quote covers the chairs and tables themselves, delivery, and pickup once your event is over. Setup and teardown of the room can be added, and we'll confirm exactly what that means for your venue before it's on the price. What's not included: linens, cushions, or decorating the tables, since we don't stock those. Everything that is included is itemised on the quote, so there's nothing to guess at.
Do you offer chiavari chairs, coloured chairs, or chair cushions?
No. We stock one style of chair, a white folding chair, and one table, a six-foot rectangular folding table, and we keep both in good order rather than spreading across a bigger catalogue. They're the pairing most Pittsburgh events actually book: plain enough to suit a wedding or a backyard party alike, and priced so a big guest list doesn't become the expensive part of the day.
Are your chairs and tables suitable for a wedding, or a formal dinner?
Yes. Our white folding chairs are the style most often used for wedding ceremonies and receptions around Pittsburgh, and they photograph cleanly with a simple sash or chair tie if you want to dress them up. We don't stock a separate formal line, so this is the chair whatever the occasion.
Do you offer a better price for a large order?
Every quote reflects your full order, so a big guest list is already priced as one job rather than the sum of small ones. Send your numbers through and you'll see the total, not a per-chair rate that changes depending on how you ask.
Is renting cheaper than buying chairs and tables for a one-time event?
For a single event, almost always. Buying enough folding chairs and tables for a wedding or a big graduation party costs more upfront than one rental, and then there's storing, cleaning, and hauling them afterwards for something you may only need once. Renting is delivered, picked up, and done.
Booking & timing
How do I request a quote?
Use the quote form on this site. It takes about a minute: your date, roughly how many guests you're expecting, where the event is, and what you think you need. If you're not sure on quantities, put your best guess and we'll sanity-check it against your guest count. You can also call or text if that's easier.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better. Summer weekends, graduation season and holiday weekends go first, and weddings tend to be booked furthest ahead. Last-minute requests are still worth sending: if it's available, it's available.
How long can I keep them?
The rental window is agreed per booking, because a Saturday afternoon party and an event that runs across a weekend are different jobs. Put your dates on the quote form, including setup and clear-up days if you need them, and we'll confirm the window with your price.
What happens if I need to change my order?
Cancellation and rescheduling must be confirmed in writing. Terms are stated on your invoice or booking confirmation.
How many chairs and tables do I need for my guest count?
As a rough starting point: one chair per guest, and one six-foot table for every six to eight guests if you're doing a sit-down meal or a buffet. Fewer tables are needed for a standing reception or a ceremony with rows of chairs only. The rentals page has a slider you can drag to your guest count for a suggested list, and you can adjust it before sending it through as a quote. If you're at all unsure, just put your guest count on the quote form and we'll check the numbers for you.
Should I order a few extra chairs as a buffer?
It's worth it if your guest count is a rough estimate rather than a headcount from RSVPs. A handful of spares costs little next to a chair rental, and it's far cheaper than someone standing at the back. Tell us it's an estimate when you request your quote and we'll build in some room rather than pricing to the exact number.
On the day
Do you set the chairs and tables up?
Tell us what you need on the quote form and we'll confirm what we can do for your venue, so it's priced in from the start rather than sprung on you. If you just want everything dropped and stacked somewhere sensible, say that too. Either way, request a quote and we'll confirm it with your price.
Do you pick everything up afterwards?
Yes. Pickup is part of the arrangement and it's scheduled when you book, so you're not chasing anyone the morning after. All we ask is that items are stacked roughly where they were dropped off and kept out of the rain if the weather turns.
What if it rains?
Chairs and tables handle a shower, but standing water and mud are hard on them and unpleasant for your guests. If the forecast looks bad, get in touch. We can talk through moving items under cover, shifting the delivery window, or what your options are for the date.
Who am I renting from?
Bista's Party Rentals is a small, locally run event rental business working out of the Pittsburgh area. We rent two things and keep them in good order: white folding chairs and six-foot rectangular tables. You deal with the same people from your first message through to pickup, not a call centre.
Can I choose a specific delivery or pickup time?
We work to a window rather than an exact minute, since deliveries are scheduled around the rest of the day's jobs, but tell us your ceremony time or venue access hours on the quote form and we'll plan the window around them. Venues with a set delivery slot, like halls with their own schedules, are worth flagging early.
What if I run short and need more chairs during the event?
Call or text us and we'll do what we can, but a same-day top-up depends on what's still available that day, so it's not something to plan around. This is exactly what the buffer chairs above are for: it's far easier to send a few back unused than to find more mid-party.
What happens if a chair or table is damaged, lost, or returned dirty?
You're responsible for the equipment from delivery until we collect it, so check it over when it arrives and let us know straight away if anything looks off. Normal signs of a good party are fine; a $35 cleaning fee applies if items come back properly dirty, and damage, loss or theft beyond normal wear is handled per the rental agreement you sign when you book. None of this is unusual, and it's rare for it to come up.
How should I leave the chairs and tables for pickup?
Wiped down if anything spilled, folded and stacked roughly where they were dropped off, and out of the rain if the weather's turned. That's all we ask; a full deep clean isn't expected.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly. There's no such thing as a daft question about event rentals.
